The purpose of this role will be to lead, develop and support the Institute's diversity programme to encourage and enable a broader participation in physics.
We would particularly like to encourage applications from those with experience of working in physical science/engineering based industries and those with experience of career breaks. In addition to this, you will have a good honours degree in physical science or engineering (physics preferred).

The purpose of this role is to support our group activities, eg maintain accurate databases, update our websites and coordinate mailings. You will also provide administrative support for our committees and administer our Awards and Undergraduate Bursary Schemes.

The post of Regional Officer (South East England) will be responsible for the development and management of policy and political debate in relation to physics education and funding, physics outreach activities, partnerships with other science and industry bodies/agencies and recruitment and retention of members.
You will be an enthusiastic and motivated team player with the ability to develop and strengthen relationships and stakeholders. You should be a graduate (preferably in physics or the physical sciences) with an awareness of the English school, higher education and political systems.
It is expected that the job holder will work from home.

INSTITUTE OF PHYSICS - Project Coordinator (Training)
Central London
Salary: £25,000-£28,500 per annum, plus benefits
We are offering an exciting opportunity to join our education and science directorate to work on managing courses for teachers, producing print publications and providing some general administrative support for the department. This vacancy has arisen due to retirement so the first six months will be spent working with the current post holder learning the role, the rest of the time will be spent working on our stimulating physics project, which is due to finish in July 2009.
You will be of graduate calibre with good communication and administrative skills. An interest in education and experience of working on publications, such as a student newsletter, would be an advantage.
