The research findings are available to download as either a full document or an executive summary at our website
www.ljmu.ac.uk/gdap.Each participant will be issued with a FREE comprehensive training pack which will also include a DVD of downloadable resources. The training pack can be used to disseminate the information to others either in the workplace, or to students or community groups.
The Employment Equality (Age) Regulations came into force on 1st October
2006 . The Regulations apply to employment and vocational training and prohibit unjustified direct and indirect age discrimination and all harassment and victimisation on the grounds of age, for people of any age, younger or older. The workshops will explore the age discrimination legislation and how ageist attitudes may have affected women’s progress in the workplace.
The FREE workshops are being offered by the Liverpool John Moores University as part of the GDAP TI (Gender Discrimination and Ageist Perceptions Training Initiative. This training is aimed at women of all ages and will inform them of their rights under the gender and age legislation. A varied programme has been developed which will use group and individual activities to raise awareness of the various aspects of discrimination and how stereotypes on gender and age can impact upon women’s experiences. Workshops, please email Ruth Hindley at r.hindley@ljmu.ac.uk .
