ACCESS TO HIGHER EDUCATION IN IT AND MULTIMEDIA

AT CORNWALL COLLEGE CAMBORNE

Why Access ?

The purpose of Access to Higher Education (HE) programmes is to give opportunities for mature students to return to study and to progress to higher education (HND, Degree, etc).  Some return to work after the Course.

Applicants do not need any formal qualifications to go on Access to HE programmes!

The programmes are designed for those who wish to come back to study after a number of years out of education. They are developed to build on the life experience of students, and to address their particular needs, in order to prepare them to succeed in higher education and a career.

Programmes lead to a named pathway leading to particular education courses (eg Access to Law, Access to Nursing, Access to Art, Access to Science). Access to HE Information Technology and Multimedia is such a pathway.

Programmes are designed so that they can be taken over one year or, on  a more part-time basis, over two or more years.

Access to HE Information Technology and Multimedia is unitised and credit based, and allows students to organise their studies at the pace which suits them.

The Access to HE IT and Multimedia Course consists mainly of the study of your subject up to HE entry level (A level ‘equivalent’).

This Access programme also includes a compulsory core element, including study skills and communications.
