Both of these workshops are full day courses (running from 10am to 4pm) and will take place at the womenintechnology offices which are very near Liverpool Street Station in central London.

This session will be run by Suzanne Doyle-Morris

Dr Suzanne Doyle-Morris is an accredited coach. She studied for her BA in Womens Studies and Psychology at St Mary's College of Maryland in the US and received her MPhil and subsequent PhD in Educational Research from Cambridge University. Her doctoral dissertation focused on the experiences of successful women in male-dominated fields and today she works with science, engineering and technology firms to help them retain, recruit and develop their high potential female employees. The Art of Influencing - Successful Negotiation Skills for Women on Friday 6th July 2007 - cost £120 + VAT

Whether its trying to get people to agree with you, asking for a promotion or a pay rise, interviewing for a new job, or attempting to bring a change of attitude or behaviour - your success will depend on how persuasive you can be. The good news is that you can learn to more powerful at influencing and persuading others to see it your way.The course will show you a practical and perceptive principles of persuasion and how they can be applied to your personal and working life for optimum gain.

What is your psychological type?

Understanding your own style and how it differs from that of others

Recognising other personalities

Putting yourself in the "shoes" of others

Presenting to and influencing your polar opposite

Learning how to tailor your communication to the receiver - using their preferred "language"

This course is being run by Salma Shah

Salma’s career commenced within the IT industry where her roles were predominately customer facing including sales, pre- sales support and management. She has worked for organisations such as Oracle, PeopleSoft and Systems Union dealing with IT customers, both from a commercial and technical perspective. She now runs a training and consultancy practise and her training methodology is based on personal knowledge and 15+ years experience of the IT industry. Salma is also a business psychologist with NLP certification and an accredited coach.
