Following the strategic decision to divide the company in two distinct units that could focus in its key competencies, Novacta is proud to relaunch their website and brands with a new, fresh look which represents their different business offerings and continue growth as leading biotechnology company capable to ‘harness biological systems’ for various applications.

The new website better represents Novacta’s two distinct units: Novacta Therapeutics, a leading anti-infective company that addresses current unmet need with novel antibiotics; and Novacta Biosystems, a specialised service provider with the unique ability to harness biological systems for efficient production of fine chemicals, pharmaceuticals and Biofuels. The distinct web entry points and branding will facilitate the navigation of the site for our customers and partners.

Tony Sedgwick, CEO of Novacta, said:’ I am delighted with the work we have done for the re-launch of the Novacta’s website and brand and I feel confident that the striking new look and branding of its two business units will represent us well as we progress and grow our businesses.’

Georg Buchner, VP of corporate and business development, added: ‘This new exciting website reflects our strategic decision to grow the two businesses and offer a more bespoke and focused user friendly platform to the different client bases. The website is only the first step to position clearly the two units distinctly in the industry. We firmly believe that the service side has huge growth potential and deserves its own branding and positioning in the industry. On the other side, our therapeutic Unit is developing an exciting pipeline of novel antibiotics projecting the company as one of the leading anti-infective biotech companies in Europe.

About Novacta Therapeutics

Novacta Therapeutics is the newly formed anti-infectives development arm of UK-based biotechnology company Novacta Biotech.

Novacta Therapeutics’ lead programmes are centred around a novel class of small peptide molecules called lantibiotics, which have until now been underexploited due to the lack of adequate research tools. Novacta has three programmes based around first-in-class optimised lantibiotic variants. Its novel approach has been validated by the Wellcome Trust’s strategic translational award for its lead programme in C.difficile associated infection.

Novacta Biotech’s other arm, known as Novacta Biosystems, is focused on providing revenue generating services to industry customers. Novacta was established in 2003 and currently employs about 25 people at its premises in Welwyn, Hertfordshire. For more information, go to www.novactabio.com.
