 *                change and raise awareness and discussion about life/work issues.

Are you interested in sharing your story with others?

Yes? Then we would like to involve you in this ground-breaking project

We are looking for women working in any of these sectors.

  We are particularly interested in:

 *                 women who would like to share their experiences with others.
 *              work places that value the opportunity to take a fresh look at everyday practices.
*              exploring the barriers to be overcome and seeing women tackling them.
*              complex life issues women face - showing situations unfold between characters rather explaining situations.
*              showing the reality of women working in this environment - emphasising how rewarding these jobs can be.
*              going beyond 'women are doing it' - looking at the complex reality of the challenges facing women and men in an    ever changing workplace.

This research is being undertaken for JIVE and the UK Resource Centre for Women in Science, Engineering and Technology with the aim of  producing a documentary series for TV.  All information will be treated in confidence. If you have any questions or would like to know more please contact:

Welcome to Mums in Science

This site has been designed as a portal for busy mums who work or have worked in science.

Too many women leave science due to the constraints of motherhood. Some struggle, and work part time, at the expense of advancing their career. Others change their career to fit in with their children, whilst working within some area of science.

Our aims are :-

  • to create a community to provide mutual support,
  • to provide information to those who have the challenge of bringing up children and maintaining a career in science, whether full or part time, or outside mainstream science.

This site is updated regularly with new articles and occasional special offers. Everything is accessible on the site. However, if you would like to receive notices of new additions to the site you can subscribe to the site and receive e-mails as soon as a new article is posted to your selected categories or to all the site.

We welcome comments about MumsinScience, what you like, what you don't like, or how we can improve.

PLEASE LET US KNOW, just email comments@mumsinscience.net
