Get Your Skates On To Kew

Yes it's that time again! Kew's historic landscape is hosting an ice rink in front of the spectacular Temperate House, where last year this proved to be a magical place to enjoy winter days and nights.

Tickets now on sale and as many sessions sell out it is worth booking your tickets early at www.ticketmaster.co.uk or by calling 0870 4000 797. Tickets can only be purchased via Ticketmaster.

The rink this year will be open from 26 November through to 15 January. Everyday there will be 10 hourly sessions, from 10am to 10pm. Closed Christmas Eve and Christmas Day only.

There will be no sessions on 28 November.

Wheelchair users
The 10.00am session on Wednesday 7 December has been allocated for wheelchair users only.

The following sessions are available for private hire. Please call the Event Information line on 020 8332 5630 for details.

30/11/05 - 19.45 session
07/12/05 - 19.45 session
14/12/05 - 19.45 session
21/12/05 - 19.45 session

Around the rink there will also be ample opportunities to relax with a range of refreshments.

Welcome to Mums in Science

This site has been designed as a portal for busy mums who work or have worked in science.

Too many women leave science due to the constraints of motherhood. Some struggle, and work part time, at the expense of advancing their career. Others change their career to fit in with their children, whilst working within some area of science.

Our aims are :-

  • to create a community to provide mutual support,
  • to provide information to those who have the challenge of bringing up children and maintaining a career in science, whether full or part time, or outside mainstream science.

This site is updated regularly with new articles and occasional special offers. Everything is accessible on the site. However, if you would like to receive notices of new additions to the site you can subscribe to the site and receive e-mails as soon as a new article is posted to your selected categories or to all the site.
