This course is for scientist who will, at some time, need to make applications for grants. The course will address issues of obtaining funding from Research Councils, Government Departments, UK Charities, the EU and Industry.  Obtaining money to fund research has never been more important and rarely more difficult, and this course will help you understand what to consider when writing an application and the content needed to justify your grant application and to help you be more successful with your applications.

Broadcast Media Basics taking place on:

This course is for anyone, from professionals who want to present information to wider audiences in broadcast news and documentaries, to students interested in communicating science through television, radio and new media such as pod and vodcasting.

 

The hands-on workshop covers the fundamentals of engaging with the media in news and documentaries on radio and television.  It also addresses the opportunities for science communication in the "new media" of podcasting and vodcasting.  The course is taught by trainers with experience in broadcast science journalism and as interviewees / documentary participants communicating their own research.
