I Hate Networking' - Networking problems and solutions

Speaker: Dinah Bennett from Women into the Network Cost: FREE

8th March at Centre for Life, Newcastle 29th March, ThinkTank Science Museum, Birmingham 10.30-4

Exclusively for women wishing to return to a career in Science, Engineering, Technology or the Built Environment

If you avoid networking at all costs, then make this the time to face your fear and do it anyway! These events are a fantastic opportunity to develop your networking skills in a relaxed and non-threatening environment, at the same time as gaining valuable contacts and networking with like minded people.

During this day you will learn

· how to identify and make the most of your networking opportunities

· why we need to network

· the tools and techniques that will make networking work for you

All women who attend on the day will be given:

· Free businesses cards to use at the event

· "It's not what you know, it's who you know" - A Guide to Networking, the WIN Networking Book full of tips and advice.

These networking training events normally cost £60 per person, but you can attend free if you qualify for the Return campaign, including travel expenses and childcare provision. Welcome to Mums in Science

This site has been designed as a portal for busy mums who work or have worked in science.

Too many women leave science due to the constraints of motherhood. Some struggle, and work part time, at the expense of advancing their career. Others change their career to fit in with their children, whilst working within some area of science.

Our aims are :-

  • to create a community to provide mutual support,
  • to provide information to those who have the challenge of bringing up children and maintaining a career in science, whether full or part time, or outside mainstream science.

This site is updated regularly with new articles and occasional special offers. Everything is accessible on the site. However, if you would like to receive notices of new additions to the site you can subscribe to the site and receive e-mails as soon as a new article is posted to your selected categories or to all the site.
