The Beauty Brains
Dear Mums In Science:

We discovered you while doing some research and we were thrilled to find another blog that focuses on women and science.

Our blog, The Beauty Brains, is all about helping women cut through the marketing hype and to get honest, scientific answers to cosmetic questions.

We're a group of cosmetic scientists who believe that beauty care products always have, and probably always will, serve a very important function in society: They make us feel better about ourselves. Most women would agree that when they use the right products, they do indeed feel better.

But there are two big problems with finding the right product to use. First, there are literally THOUSANDS of products to choose from. Second, in their zeal to promote all these products, the cosmetic companies bombard you with a lot of confusing, conflicting, and sometimes misleading and false information.

Our desire is to help you cut through all this cosmetic clutter by giving you honest, unbiased information about these products. We believe that the more information you have, the better you'll be able to find products that you like at a price you can afford.

So, you can listen to the advertising. Or advice of a friend. Or what your stylist tells you. But if you want to really understand cosmetic products in an unbiased, scientific way, Ask The Beauty Brains. We'll get you answers from a team of cosmetic scientists who have no sales pitch and nothing for you to buy.

If this sounds interesting to you, please check out our site. We'd love to establish a relationship with the readers of Mums in Science.

Welcome to Mums in Science

This site has been designed as a portal for busy mums who work or have worked in science.

Too many women leave science due to the constraints of motherhood. Some struggle, and work part time, at the expense of advancing their career. Others change their career to fit in with their children, whilst working within some area of science.

Our aims are :-

  • to create a community to provide mutual support,
  • to provide information to those who have the challenge of bringing up children and maintaining a career in science, whether full or part time, or outside mainstream science.

This site is updated regularly with new articles and occasional special offers. Everything is accessible on the site. However, if you would like to receive notices of new additions to the site you can subscribe to the site and receive e-mails as soon as a new article is posted to your selected categories or to all the site.

We welcome comments about MumsinScience, what you like, what you don't like, or how we can improve.

PLEASE LET US KNOW, just email comments@mumsinscience.net
