There is still time to book a place at EuroSciCon's ‘Nanotoxicology: Health & Environmental Impacts’ meeting on February 27th 2009. Professor Wolfgang G. Kreyling (Helmholtz Zentrum München Research Center for Health & Environment; Institute of Inhalation Biology, Focus Network Nanoparticles and Health, Germany) will be discussing the health implications of nanoparticles. PrimerDesign is seeking a German speaking individual with a molecular biology background to help build the reputation of PrimerDesign in Germany. This exciting and varied role will include setting up, coordinating and presenting seminars in German academic institutions, translation and preparation of materials and literature in to German, technical support of research projects in Germany via telephone, email and training visits. The position will based at our UK office/laboratory premises but will involve regular travel to Germany

I remember the eager anticipation of Father Christmas to leave presents in my stockings on Christmas Eve. While we had all the family gifts under the tree, each of us also had a stocking hanging from the fireplace lintel. What has this world come to when a child that defends himself against a bully ends up with the same punishment? Or a child who breaks-up a school fight ends up with suspension for physically pulling two kids apart and not running for a teacher? Children today have much to fear when they can’t even defend themselves from assault, fear punishment for doing the right thing, or worse—get beaten as innocent bystanders do nothing at all. more »
