Science Director Vacancy at the Dr Hadwen Trust
Science Director Vacancy at the Dr Hadwen Trust

The Dr. Hadwen Trust for Humane Research is the UK's leading medical research charity funding exclusively non-animal techniques to replace animal experiments, benefiting humans and animals. It is now advertising for a Science Director, as the current post holder will be retiring at the end of the year. This is a very rare opportunity in the charity sector: a scientific role combining support for medical research and animal protection at the highest levels. The Science Director will provide high-quality, visionary leadership for all the research and other scientific activities of the charity, maintaining and increasing its influence nationally and worldwide in scientific, political, regulatory, media and public arenas.

This senior management position, based at their Hitchin, Herts. HQ, requires a scientist with a PhD, MD or similar qualification in a relevant subject, and with an established reputation in their field. Applicants will also be committed ethical anti-vivisectionists with strategic vision, experience of motivating and managing staff and the ability to represent the Dr Hadwen Trust at national and international levels.

Welcome to Mums in Science

This site has been designed as a portal for busy mums who work or have worked in science.

Too many women leave science due to the constraints of motherhood. Some struggle, and work part time, at the expense of advancing their career. Others change their career to fit in with their children, whilst working within some area of science.

Our aims are :-

  • to create a community to provide mutual support,
  • to provide information to those who have the challenge of bringing up children and maintaining a career in science, whether full or part time, or outside mainstream science.

This site is updated regularly with new articles and occasional special offers. Everything is accessible on the site. However, if you would like to receive notices of new additions to the site you can subscribe to the site and receive e-mails as soon as a new article is posted to your selected categories or to all the site.

We welcome comments about MumsinScience, what you like, what you don't like, or how we can improve.

PLEASE LET US KNOW, just email comments@mumsinscience.net
