New book for mums in science

An excellent book called 'Motherhood: The elephant in the laboratory' is published this month. It contains essays from 34 female scientists in the US who combined their careers with motherhood. It's well worth a read. It also got me wondering how many female Nobel prize-winning scientists had children, so I looked into it. My (rather unscientific) conclusion is that it seems to have got harder, not easier, to be a brilliant scientist and mother. If you want to find out more, here's a blog I wrote about it:
