How long will child anxiety last? When my daughter started having anxiety and then panic, I kept hoping it would last just a few weeks...then months...then a year. I am a psychologist so I knew what was happening but as a dad my expectations were all over the place like any parent. Having your expectations way off can make this journey more excruciating than it is already. .....

The Institute of Physics, Women in Physics Group invites applications, from women physicists working in academia or industry, for the 4th annual Very Early Career Woman Physicist of the Year award. The award comes with a prize of £1000, donated by Shell. The winner will be expected to have experience in outreach to young people and non-scientists and will act as a role model for younger women (just starting work or tertiary education, or still at school). more »
